Daniel Grant donates to Caring for Cats

Here at Animal Friends we employ a system whereby the managers from our range of departments come together to decide who has been employee of the month. That person then gets £3,000 to donate to an animal welfare charity of their choosing.

There is normally only one person who receives this accolade but during the month of July there were two employees who surpassed themselves and went above and beyond their role. As a result, each employee received £1,500 to donate to a charity of their choice. Daniel Grant from our Marketing department was the second employee of the month.

Daniel has transformed the Marketing department with his positive attitude and cheery demeanour. He has always got great ideas and engages everyone around Animal Friends HQ. Since taking the role of charity co-ordinator he has worked exceptionally hard to make sure that we here at Animal Friends are donating to all types of animal welfare charities, with several of the charities remarking how friendly and helpful he is. Daniel is always looking to the future and to push things forward. He is a very conscientious and progressive employee and he is a credit to Animal Friends Insurance.

Daniel decided to donate his £1,500 to Caring for Cats, a small non-profit making charity which rescues, neuters and homes unwanted cats (both pets and feral cats). The charity, based in Billingshurst (Sussex), has a non-destruction policy and so if they cannot find a home for a cat, then they look after the cat for the rest of its life. A lot of these cats are by their nature, quite old, or have a long-term illness and so the charity frequently has to pay high vet fees, which are often beyond their means.

Daniel made this statement on why he chose to donate to Caring for Cats:

“I have closely followed the great work that Caring for Cats have been doing these past few years as my great aunt volunteers there. Unfortunately, despite the weekly fundraising that the charity employs, they are struggling to exist and so I thought that my donation might help to alleviate some of the pressure that they are under”

A volunteer from the charity had this message of thanks:

“Caring for Cats can’t thank you enough. This couldn’t have come a better time. So again, a big thanks to you and all your staff for all your hard work in promoting animal welfare”

We here at Animal Friends are over the moon that Daniel decided to donate to a small charity that desperately needs funds  and does such excellent work in helping with cats in need.
