Anthony Cannings Donates to Hula

Here at Animal Friends we employ a system whereby the managers from our range of departments come together to decide who has been employee of the month. That person then gets £3,000 to donate to an animal welfare charity of their choosing.

We are delighted to announce that our employee of the month for October was Anthony Cannings from our Marketing department. Anthony was previously an integral member of our Customer Services department but the discovery of his skills in marketing promptly earned him a position as our social networking co-ordinator. Since making the switch Anthony has injected new life into the department, consistently coming up with ideas and solutions and helping to push things forward.

Whilst continuing to produce a high standard of work, Anthony has also been helping out the Customer Services department on the weekends (his days off). Anthony is a real credit to the marketing department and Animal Friends as a whole. He is conscientious, always willing to help and extremely productive.

Anthony has decided to donate his £3,000 to Hula (Home for Unwanted and Lost Animals) Animal rescue based in Milton Keynes. Hula takes in all different types of animals ranging from small pets such as cats, dogs, gerbils and rabbits as well as some of the bigger animals such as ponies, goats, sheep, ducks and cows. It was set-up by its founders in 1972 and has saved over 31,000 animals since its inception. Their policy states that they will never put an animal to sleep unless it is for medical reasons; they also worm, microchip and vaccinate all of their animals.

Anthony has been a great admirer of all the work that Hula does to ensure that animals are kept safe and find a happy home. He had this statement to make on why he chose Hula:

“I chose Hula because I feel the work they do is of a vast importance to the sustainment of animal welfare and given the current economic climate it tends to be operations such as these that are adversely affected.”

We here are extremely happy that Anthony chose to donate his £3,000 donation to such a worthy and deserving charity. Anthony will actually be visiting Hula in the near future and we will be reporting back on his visit.
