Animal Friends Supports Strays of Greece

Fluffy.JPGAnimal loving visitors to Greece and her Islands soon discover that respect and compassion for animals is nowhere near the standard to which we are accustomed in the UK. Very few cats and dogs have the luxury of a responsible owner and most have a very short and miserable existence. As there is no routine sterilisation programme there is a constant flow of kittens and puppies to replace the adults as they die off and so the sad cycle starts again and again, year in, year out.

Friends of the Strays of Greece is a UK organisation doing good work to help this situation on the Island of Aegina. Their fundraising efforts support an organisation on Aegina called Animal Respect.

Animal Friends has therefore paid for two vets and a veterinary nurse together with all necessary drugs and equipment to fly out to Greece to neuter stray cats and dogs on Aegina.
