Animal Friends Raises £3,750 for Comic Relief

RedNose13_Group

Well what a day we have had here at Animal Friends. To help raise funds for Comic Relief we have held a few competitions and in true Animal Friends style, everyone rose to the challenge. Almost every single member of staff baked a cake to be entered in the soggy bottom competition. The baked goods were also on sale throughout the day with everyone clamouring to buy the ‘works of art’.

We also held a fancy dress competition where the staff surpassed themselves. There was a whole host of colours and wacky outfits to really get into the spirit of Red Nose Day ranging from Mario and Princess Fiona from Shrek, to superheroes such as Batgirl and Superman, and not forgetting, of course, lots and lots of animal costumes. There was also a ‘glam-up’ competition where staff could get their glad rags on to try and win a prize. Everyone who entered this looked rather smart indeed, although some members of staff seemed to swap their black-tie attire for something a little more, risqué.

There were 3 winners from each competition and these were chosen by Elaine (Founder & Director) and Chris (Marketing Director) Fairfax along with various managers; Elaine also organised the whole day.

Whilst fun was had by all at Animal Friends the purpose of this day was not lost and we managed to raise £3,500 for Comic Relief. A brilliant effort I’m sure you’ll agree, especially since some members of staff came in on their day off to help fund-raise. A great day and one that shows why working at Animal Friends is all at once fun, focussed and full of caring about others.

Be sure to head back to the blog on Monday as we will be posting the best of the photos from the day.
