An animal welfare volunteer has insisted that support is available to pet owners who are struggling to make ends meet.Marion Lane, who rescues and rehomes dogs in south Wales, said there is no need to abandon unwanted animals. She was speaking after the discovery of two Jack Russells in the area, which had been dumped from a car down a country lane during the night. "It makes me so angry to think that someone has deliberately set out to get rid of unwanted dogs in this way," she commented. Ms Lane told the Western Telegraph that there is "no need" to dump animals, as animal support and rescue groups are there to help. She added that the two dogs were traumatised by their ideal, but have cheered up a lot since and found a new home in Fishguard. This comes after Jackie Paradis of the RSPCA told the Hull Daily Mail that a growing number of people are abandoning their pets ahead of the festive season.
