Workers at an animal facility in Scotland are to raise money via a dog kennel sleepover. The Scottish SPCA Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre is the location for a new puppy block, where young pooches and new mothers can rest and recuperate away from the adult dog kennels. But more donations are needed to maintain the site, so the staff decided that a sponsored sleepover would do the trick. They will get into their pyjamas and see what a night there is really like, explained deputy assistant manager Gillian Boyle. "We need to equip the kitchen and washroom areas as well as all the beds, bedding, toys and bowls required for the kennels," she said, noting all of the things still on the Lanarkshire shopping list. "We hope that local animal lovers will support us." The new puppy block also includes a play and exercise area. News of the sleepover follows another Scottish SPCA announcement last month. The charity said it responded to a call from a hotel near Edinburgh, where a hedgehog had walked in and given birth to five hoglets.
