Reality stars seen sharing custody of pet dogs

A pet dog may not be an asset formally divided in a divorce battle, but for two reality stars, it is just as important.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are reportedly making their split official - although they have decided to share custody of their animals.

Pictures appear to show Heidi, who shot to fame in MTV show The Hills, passing two of the canines over to Spencer in Costa Rica, where she is currently living.

The Daily Mail shows the two other pooches then given to him, before he departs on a golf cart.

His ex co-star in the series, Lauren Conrad, also owns a pet dog and was spotted in recent months walking it in Los Angeles.

Named Chloe and reported to be a Labrador/German shepherd cross, she appeared in an episode of the show when Conrad and roommate Lo Bosworth brought her home for the first time.
