Pet dog saved from drowning by boy

Tuesday, 31 August 2010 13:26

A heroic young boy has rescued a pet dog from drowning.

According to Archant Media, the male saved the husky puppy after it leapt into the River Yare close to Havenbridge House in Great Yarmouth on Friday (August 27th).

It is thought that the creature escaped from its owner and jumped over the river wall to land in the water.

Luckily the boy was passing by and was able to save it.

This is a much happier ending than a similar story recently reported in Lancashire.

A terrier was discovered in a river under the Burnley Road in Accrington, having been tied to a rucksack with plastic bags and drowned.

The RSPCA in the area has launched an investigation into the incident, which was perpetrated on Freddie.

The pooch had disappeared from his front garden earlier that day (August 2nd) and his owners are said to be devastated about the turn of events.
