Dog rescue group saves puppy from grim fate

An illegally-imported pooch might be thanking some of the dog rescue powers that be after she was saved from potential death.
According to the EveningNews24, shih-tzu Mika was brought in from Poland without permission and seized by trading standards authorities and would have either been deported, quarantined or euthanised.
However, Hillside Animal Sanctuary at Frettenham, Norfolk stepped in and took on the tiny canine.
Wendy Valentine, the founder of the company, told the news provider that they didn't think twice as soon as they heard about the possible fate that awaited the innocent animal.
Now it has taken on the costs for her six-month quarantine and will endeavour to find the creature a home when she comes out of isolation.
Meanwhile, in a less cheerful tale, the RSPCA is currently hunting the person responsible for tying a terrier to a rucksack in Lancashire and drowning it.
