Dog insurance could help stolen pooches

Dog insurance can be crucial should a pet pooch go missing or - even worse - be taken by thieves.
One recent case involved a miniature French bulldog worth £2,500 stolen from his home in Durham City - and the whole incident was caught on his owner's CCTV system.
Leanne McGough and partner Jonathan McManus are appealing for information that could help them find eight-month-old Maharishi.
Certain breeds of dog are of high value, but Kennel Club spokesperson Caroline Kisko said that without pedigree papers, the pet dog is of little value to the thieves.
Regardless, Ms McGough believes the criminals "knew what they were doing".
"One of them seemed to be hiding behind the gate and the other ducked down looking like he was trying to feed the dogs ... Then the other opened the gate and just picked her up by the collar and ran off," she explained.
Miniature French bulldogs are generally very loyal but, due to their enormous amount of energy, need lots of exercise.
