Kitten inspired girl to help it

A university student has explained her decision to rescue and care for an injured kitten she found on her family's farm, ethical insurance customers might be interested to hear.
Speaking to the Wapakoneta Daily News, 21-year-old Brea Quellhorst said she heard a "squeaking" sound when walking to a barn on the premises and discovered the tiny animal, which was tangled hopelessly in some twine.
"As I got closer, I saw that the mom must have nursed the kitten from there from birth, because the twine had grown into the leg and made it deformed," she told the publication, noting that while usually she may have thought it was a hopeless case, the fact that humans were responsible for the moggy's injury spurred her on.
The injury echoes that recently experienced by an osprey rescued by the Scottish SPCA after it became caught in a fishing net.
She took the creature - named Jensen - to a local pet health care practitioner who managed to operate and amputate its leg.
However, while Ms Quellhorst had expected a huge bill, Dr Daryl Osborn charged her just $30 (£19) as he was so touched by the effort she was making.
