Lost dog returns home

A pet dog who ran away after being attacked by another dog has been returned home six days later.

Twiggy, a five-year-old Jack Russell belonging to Heidi Sanderson, 29, went missing last week after she was attacked while out for a walk on Shirley Hills, Croydon.

The Croydon Guardian reports Miss Sanderson and her partner Alex were walking their two Jack Russells, Twiggy and Spider, on Friday February 19th, when two Alsatian dogs, not on their leads, attacked the two smaller dogs.

After the incident the newspaper ran an appeal to help Miss Sanderson find Twiggy, who used to belong to her late father.

A couple, living near where Twiggy was attacked, contacted Miss Sanderson after recognising the pet dog from the article.

Miss Sanderson said: "Twiggy was over the moon to see us. She had lost a whole stone in weight and was very dehydrated."
