Carrie Underwood 'so glad' she adopted a dog

Carrie Underwood has spoken of her delight with her adopted dog, Ace.

The Grammy Award-winning singer revealed the happiness that her four-year-old rescue dog brings her, to PeoplePets.com.

Ms Underwood, whose Play On tour is sponsored by Pedigree, was shooting a public service announcement as part of the company's adoption drive.

The singer revealed that she can no longer imagine her life without her adopted dog - and that as pets they are beautiful souls who don't demand anything back.

Ms Underwood said: "He's smart and he's fun, and makes me really appreciate all the little things in life because he is a little thing."

The dog, Ace, was described as a natural in front of camera after appearing in the shoot with his owner.

The singer continues to help rescue dogs by volunteering at a shelter when she goes home to Oklahoma and had worked in veterinary clinic before becoming famous.
