A cat has survived despite being trapped in a freezing food warehouse for at least a month, reports thisisleicestershire.co.uk.
The cat is currently receiving pet health care from Leicester's RSPCA Woodside Animal Centre after his four-week adventure in the warehouse, which operates at minus 28F.
Frosty, as the cat has been appropriately named, had already lost one ear but vets have had to amputate his other ear and his tail since the rescue.
Staff had been unable to catch the cat despite a number of sightings, but now he is in the safe hands of the RSPCA he will eventually be put up for pet adoption.
Rachel Allcock, an RSPCA care assistant, said: "When he came into us he was pretty shy, which isn't surprising considering the ordeal he'd been through. He's a lovely cat and he's become very playful."
A cat from Sankey Bridges had a similar escape after 20 days missing as temperatures plummeted earlier this winter.
