Duchess of Cornwall to visit cat and dog rescue facility

Wednesday, 12 May 2010 20:07

Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, is to tour a pet health care centre in London.

Scheduled to arrive today (May 12th), the patron of the Kennel Club Charitable Trust will have the opportunity to greet staff and volunteers at the Mayhew Animal Home, as well as getting shown round the grounds and facilities available at the property.

Described as one of the biggest and busiest organisations for animal welfare in England's capital, the home caters for cat and dog rescue, as well as smaller creatures and, when the need arises, other species.

The Kennel Club Charitable Trust, of which the Duchess has been patron since 2007, funds and supports canine rescue and welfare missions.

Camilla may have had work to do at home recently too - Drizzle, the beloved polo pony of her husband the Prince of Wales and Princes William and Harry, died over the weekend of a heart attack during a match.

Animal Friends Insurance Services are an ethical pet insurance company. We have been supporting animal welfare charities around the world since 1999 by donating all net profits to their causes.
