CSI star campaigns against dogfighting

Every year extensive pet health care is required by dogs as a result of dog fighting.
Last Saturday (February 27th), CSI star Jorja Fox hosted the fifth annual Spotlight Humane: Chicago which campaigns and raises money to stop street based dog fighting throughout the city.
The fundraising event was held at the Hotel Sofitel Water Tower in Chicago and all proceeds will go towards the city's programme which works with young people and the community to provide dog training and try to remove street level dog fighting.
Launched in 2006 by the Humane Society of the United States, End Dog Fighting in Chicago uses community outreach to change people's attitudes towards dog fighting.
Fox, who is best known for her role as Sara Sidle in the CSI TV series, said she was honoured to host the event.
As a result of its success, the End Dog Fighting campaign has now been extended to Atlanta and there are plans to launch it in Philadelphia in the future.
