Training - Make it Little and Often

Taking your puppy to puppy training classes is part of being a responsible dog owner along with investing in good pet insurance and registering with a reputable vet. However if you're going to a puppy class once a week you'll still need to reinforce that training in-between sessions. Puppies need to be contantly reminded of good behaviour so make sure that you include short training sessions in your daily routine.

The key is to keep them short and sweet as your puppy's attention span will be fleeting and you want to ensure you end the training session on a positive note so that they look forward to these times. This can mean keeping it as short as a three minute session! Make sure the sessions are little and often and your puppy will develop in leaps and bounds.

With such short sessions it's easy to incorporate training in on a daily basis. If your puppy starts to lose interest make it more stimulating by introducing treats and new toys as incentives. Your puppy should look forward to training and see it as a game. It's a great way of bonding with your puppy so make sure you end by asking him to do something he's good at and if he does get it wrong don't get annoyed!
