The Jack Russell Terrier is a miniature sized version of the Fox Terrier. They are small in size but are distinct in other qualities. These little terriers have a merry personality and are loving in nature. Their body is flexible which helps them in running fast after their prey.

The life span of these dogs is about ten to fifteen years. The males weigh up to eighteen pounds whereas the females up to sixteen pounds. You must ensure that they receive adequate exercise. They enjoy interaction with their respective owners and develop a strong bond with them. It is better if you have a small yard that is fenced securely. They can be seen in various colours like brown, tan and black. They are well proportioned with their height and have somewhat mischievous appearance.

The Jack Russell Terrier is prone to diseases like hip dysplasia, deafness, collie eye anomaly and Legg Perthes disease. They also suffer from pain in their hip joints. They are prone to lameness as well. While playing with your Jack Russell Terrier can be a lot of fun, paying for its medical treatment and medicines might not be such a pleasant experience.
