Runaway ram case cracked

A runaway ram has been rescued by animal welfare charity the RSPCA.

Rupert first went on the lam at the end of July and has proven a tough case to crack for the organisation's inspectors as he raced around Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.

However, he has now been caught and is recovering nicely at Wood Green Animal Shelters, following veterinary treatment at the RSPCA Blackberry Farm Animal Centre.

The creature was nabbed in a front garden with a minor wound to his leg.

"At first we thought he was quite timid but he is a bit of a mischief maker. He has been checked over by the vet and will soon be out on the fields with the other animals," Wood Green Animal Shelter field section manager Deborah Wild said.

The RSPCA recently announced the success of its polecat project, which saw scientific officers following a group of orphaned baby polecats to track their progress and survival rates in the wild.

Animal Friends Insurance, one of the largest independent pet insurers in the UK offer dog insurance, cat insurance and horse insurance to UK residents.
