Owl-like kitten seeks home

A kitten with a unique appearance is looking for a home, an animal welfare shelter has announced.

According to a piece in the Hi-Desert Star, Owlette is so named because her ears curve over strangely at the top, meaning she resembles a bird more than a feline.

Despite this, she is described as a sweet and loving kitty by workers at the Yucca Valley Animal Shelter, where she lives.

"Owlette is a true thief. She is a staff favourite because she loves to steal cleaning rags, toys and other items," the piece explained.

This comes after the Blue Cross reported that a cat in its pet health care may look more like a piglet than a kitten, thanks to her curled-up tail.

In addition to Owlette, the sanctuary is trying to find a home for a "great little dog" named Rocky, a rat terrier mix that is tricoloured and said to get along well with everybody from dogs to children.

Animal Friends Insurance, one of the largest independent pet insurers in the UK offer dog insurance, cat insurance and horse insurance to UK residents.
