Dog Sit Guinness World Record Attempt

A few days ago we posted about the lovely visit we received from Leslie Gold (the Supporter Relations Officer at The Salisbury Dog’s trust) and her lovely dog ‘Laika’ ahead of the Salisbury Dog’s Trust open day on Sunday 7th August. As the event is drawing ever nearer the staff at Animal Friends are gearing up for what is going to be a brilliant event.

The canine shenanigans will kick-off from 11am and last through until 4am with the main event being an attempt at the world’s largest simultaneous dog stay taking place at 1:15. Any dog and their owner can enter for free but will need to pre-register in the morning before the attempt starts. The dog will have to sit or lie down in an alert position for two minutes in order for this world record to count. Other fun activities taking place throughout the day include judging events such as ‘Most Handsome Dog’, ‘Best Crossbreed’ and ‘Waggiest Tail’. There will also be a BBQ, bouncy castle, pony rides and a raffle making this day an enticing prospect. Visits to the state of the art rehoming centre will be running from 1 to 3pm so you can see for yourself what a great job the Salisbury Dog’s Trust is doing.

We here at Animal Friends are proudly sponsoring this world record attempt and are always looking to provide animal welfare charities with as much support as possible.  This is something we strongly believe in and we aim to donate a million pounds to various animal charities by the end of 2012. We think this world record attempt is a fantastic idea to bring the dog community together and promote the message of rehoming loving dogs that are looking for a family.

This great day out for all the family is taking place in the field opposite the Dog’s Trust Salisbury Rehoming Centre, 45 Amesbury Road, Newton Tony, Salisbury, SP4 0HW. Entry is only £1.50 for adults and free for everyone else.
