A pet dog has won a pet weight loss challenge.
Vets told the labrador's pet health care givers that it needed to lose weight after pushing the scales to five and a half stone.
The two-year old, named Ruby, shed ten per cent of her body weight in just six weeks after sticking to special dietary plans outlined by the vet.
But it didn't stop there for super-slimmer Ruby, who has gone on to shed over half a stone.
Ruby's efforts have not only been rewarded with a more slimline physique but saw her named the Kilo Crunch Doncaster champion in a Vets4Pets competition.
Previously, a cat from Chester proved that felines can pull their weight when it comes to slimming too.
Toots shed a remarkable 1.4 kg from her overall weight and now weighs in at a comparatively feather-light 4.7 kg.
Toots' efforts in losing 20 per cent of her body weight saw her acknowledged with a Kilo Crunch Challenge award as well.
