Owner: Pet dog screamed as he was dragged under car

After a pet dog was run over and almost killed on a busy road, Devon County Council has promised to repair damaged fencing which led to his escape.
Alfie the Labradoodle was hit by a car after running off down a footpath and through the gate, according to This is the West Country.
His owner Tracy Rapo said the ordeal was terrible as she witnessed her pet go under the car and get dragged down the road.
She claimed he was "screaming like a child".
However, Alfie escaped without serious injury although he did break two toes and get lacerations all over his body.
But now Ms Rapo says she is concerned that another dog - or a child - could squeeze through the fence onto the road too.
It was reported by the Echo News that two drivers are being hailed as heroes after they saved the life of Tommy the boxer, who got lost and ended up on the A127.
