Wheelie bin kitten returned to owner

A kitten found trapped in a wheelie bin has been reunited with her shocked family, pet insurance customers might be pleased to note.

According to the Spenborough Guardian, Felix - an eight-month-old black and white - was discovered desperately struggling to get out of the closed receptacle, which had been locked.

Taken in by pet health care officials, the newspaper published a story on the feline's tale, which alerted her owner Jane Walker to her fate.

Mrs Walker and her two sons - Tyrone, aged eight and Dylan, four - had been searching for the animal and were "really upset" at her disappearance.

However, they are thrilled to have been reunited.

"We're all absolutely over the moon. The boys love her and she loves them. She chases them round the room and they play for hours," Ms Walker added.

The news comes weeks after a bank worker caused a furore when she was caught on CCTV picking up a stranger's cat and dumping her in a bin.
