Newspaper asks for help to save Daisy

A pet health care organisation is appealing to newspaper readers to help save the life of Daisy the cat.

The Bucks Free Press reports that the Marjorie Nash Cat Rescue is asking consumers to donate some money to help treat the feline, which was abandoned last October in a "bad state".

It was doubtful whether she would even survive but she seems to have turned a corner - although her constant need for treatment is draining the charity.

"It only takes a very sick cat like Daisy to have a devastating impact on our finances," volunteer Cindy Bailey told the newspaper.

She added that despite the financial burden, the charity's policy was to have no animal with a "reasonable" quality or expectation of quality of life euthanised.

The rescue centre is hoping that animal lovers - perhaps those who hold pet insurance - can help by donating a few pounds.

The Aberdeenshire Press and Journal reported recently that donations from their readership have saved the life of a sick greyhound, coincidentally also named Daisy.
