Neighbours: Cats are being poisoned

A pair of cat lovers have spoken out about their fears that someone is deliberately poisoning their neighbourhood's moggies, in news which may concern feline fans considering insuring kittens.
Michelle Dunn's six-month-old cat Sandie was euthanised earlier this week after he began to vomit and act strange, the Peterlee Mail reports.
The mother-of-nine, who owns two other cats named Patches and Misty, said that her vet had told her Sandie may have been poisoned - potentially by antifreeze.
"I want to warn people to keep their eye on their cats. Cats are family pets and they are dying," she claimed.
Ms Dunn's neighbour Sacha Higgins had lost her own black-and-white Simba to similar symptoms a few days earlier and alerted Ms Dunn to her suspicions.
According to the two women, four other kitties have fallen ill or disappeared in the streets surrounding theirs.
"Too many cats have gone all at once," Ms Higgins notes.
Vet Michael Fox recently advised cat lovers that excessive moulting in moggies may indicate stress or poor nutrition.
