Cat owner warns others after airgun attack

Pet health care treatments were needed recently by two cats that were shot with an airgun.
Owner Julie Sullivan, of Royal Court, Harwich Road, Colchester, told the Chelmsford Weekly News that while one feline shot in the stomach has made a partial recovery, the other was hit in the chest and may not make it.
54-year-old Mrs Sullivan warned other owners in the neighbourhood that the assailants could strike again.
"It is just so cruel," she said, adding that the cat believed to be on his way to full health, Tom, is the special pet of her son Daniel, who has Asperger's Syndrome.
"[He] would have been devastated as he is his cat and we have had him for about nine years, since he was a kitten. Daniel has a really close connection with him."
Another gun attack was reported this week. The RSPCA is appealing for information after finding a pair of swans shot to death in Brisley, near Dereham in Norfolk.
