A Florida teenager has been arrested and accused of flinging an acid bomb at a pet dog, WZVN reports.

The puppy, named Charlie Brown, escaped serious injury in the attack but suffered a damaged leg and some hair loss as a result.

Robert Rogers, aged 17, has apparently been accused of throwing acid before.

Reports suggest that several eyewitnesses saw Rogers attack the puppy with the muriatic acid, while others told the police that the teen had bragged about it later.

He has been charged with throwing a destructive device.

A woman in the US has been arrested after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend's pet dog in the head during a domestic dispute.

Although the puppy lost significant amounts of blood, its injuries are not life-threatening.

The Utica police chief told the Utica Daily News: "What the motive was to injure the dog, I don't know – whether it was retaliation against the owner or if she was mad at something the dog did."
